Hope

Hope

Hope

Is it real? Do you have hope?

Like a go on the lottery or betting tote

Do we wish for what is possible or real?

Or do we just spin dreams on a wheel

Taking risks with our feelings and minds

Creating solutions of all kinds

With no guarantees or certainties

We feel the need to gamble with these

Out of a sense of duty and care

We fight what we know is unfair

But hope gives us courage to go on

And the right to feel strong

Hope gives relief from trouble

Floating around like a bubble

We submit ourselves to dare

That it must be really there

For hope is a form of freedom

A release from what’s become

We all have the right to feel free

So yes, hope is real to me
